Christian Science Sunday School

A joyful place for children and teens to learn about God.

Who/what/where is God?Who am I?

Where is safety found

Where is love found?

Christian Science Sunday School is a great place to find answers to questions like these. Answers that empower. And comfort. And make your heart sing.

What/who defines me?

My skin color, gender, sexual orientation, or

who my parents are?

What is the nature of God?

What is the nature of the Divine’s creation – man, woman, and child? What is the nature of evil? What is the nature of prayer that comforts and heals? Answers to these questions are based on the life, teachings, and healing ministry of Christ Jesus, as well as his disciples and Old Testament prophets, poets, leaders, seers, and healers.

God is Love

In weekly one-hour classes students are taught about the God who is Love (see I John 4:8 and 16) and a very present help in trouble (see Psalm 46:1 ). Through study of the inspired Word of the Bible, students are taught that each one of us is precious and beloved by the divine Father-Mother God.

The Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, brings clarity to Bible themes.

Early Classes

Moses’ 10 commandments and Christ Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount form the basis for the earliest classes. Students are taught The Lord’s Prayer as well as its spiritual interpretation from Science and Health

Older Classes

The weekly Bible Lesson forms the basis for the older classes. These Bible Lessons are studied during the week by students of Christian Science of all ages and read aloud on Sundays in Christian Science churches and societies. For more information on the Bible Lesson, please click here.

The Lord's Prayer

with its Spiritual Interpretation

From Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy

Our Father which art in heaven,

   Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious,

Hallowed be Thy name.

   Adorable One.

Thy kingdom come.

   Thy kingdom is come; Thou art ever-present.

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

   Enable us to know, — as in heaven, so on earth, — God is omnipotent, supreme.

Give us this day our daily bread;

   Give us grace for to-day; feed the famished affections;

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

   And Love is reflected in love;

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil;

   And God leadeth us not into temptation, but delivereth us from sin, disease, and death.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

   For God is infinite, all-power, all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All.

Classes are geared to the individual student’s thought and are open to children and young adults up to age 20. For more information oabout  Christian Science Sunday schools, please click here.

At this time, classes begin at 10 a.m. on Sundays. However, we're glad to work with families and students to find times that work best for them. For instance, if after-school classes would work better, we’re open to considering that option.
